Course Description

The course is designed for those new to the California ISO or interested parties who wish to understand the basics of the California ISO.

This course covers basic concepts of an ISO, including a description of its roles and responsibilities.  It includes an overview of the planning functions performed by the California ISO, the products and services procured to operate the grid, and introduces the concepts of the ISO’s day-ahead and real-time markets including timelines, processes and market results.  This course provides a good understanding of how the ISO operates and how you can expect to engage across its various functions.

About Course Registration

Class size is limited. Once a class is filled, it will be closed and a waiting list will be created for those participants who sign up for the class. The participants on the waiting list will be informed of class availability as space becomes available.

Government Agencies - Training courses are offered at half price for employees of government agencies that do not bid or schedule in our markets (e.g. CPUC, FERC). Government agencies that are certified scheduling coordinators, or contract with certified scheduling coordinators for these purposes are not eligible for this offer.
